Coastside Feral Care is an all-volunteer nonprofit dedicated to providing compassionate care for local stray and feral cats. While we strive to find homes for all, we also provide lifelong care—including food, shelter, and veterinary support—for those who cannot be adopted.
Rescue — We trap stray and feral cats and ensure they receive medical attention, vaccinations, and spay/neuter services—ending the cycle of new litters and giving each cat a chance at a better life.
Heal — We feed and care for more than 35 cats in six colonies every day, providing nourishment, veterinary treatment for the sick or injured, and the comfort of knowing they have a place to go for their daily meal.
Hope — We find loving homes for adoptable cats and kittens, while continuing to care for those returned to their colonies—because every cat deserves nutritious food, good health, and human kindness.
Your donation funds spay/neuter procedures, food, medical care, and adoption efforts for the Coastside’s stray and feral cats. As a volunteer-run nonprofit, every dollar helps prevent suffering, reduce overpopulation, and provide ongoing care for cats in need.
🐾 $25 — Feeds a colony cat for a month
🐾 $50 — Provides vaccinations and deworming for a rescued cat
🐾 $100 — Covers a spay/neuter surgery
🐾 $250 — Funds medical care for an injured cat
Not all cats return to the wild. Many stray cats in our program are lost or abandoned pets longing for human companionship. Feral-born kittens, if rescued in time, can also grow into loving companions. We work tirelessly to find forever homes for Coastside’s adoptable cats.
“Nothing brings us more joy than placing a once abandoned cat in a safe, warm home with a loving family.”
~ Jane Ganahl, Co-founder Coastside Feral Care

For truly feral cats who cannot be adopted, we commit to their care for life. Our volunteers visit colonies daily to provide:
✔️ Nutritious food & fresh water
✔️ Safe, warm shelters
✔️ Medical care for injuries & illness
Not only is this the compassionate thing to do — it is a requirement set by the Peninsula Humane Society for the management of feral cat colonies.
We need foster homes, colony feeders, trappers, and food donations! Visit the "Volunteer!" tab for more information.
Coastside Feral Care depends on your support. Thank you for your donation!
Founded in 2015 by Jane Ganahl and the late Maggie Cooney, Coastside Feral Care is a 100% volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to reducing the homeless cat population through spay/neuter programs and adoption. We rescue, foster, and rehome adoptable strays while providing lifelong care for feral cats, as required by the Peninsula Humane Society. At Coastside Feral Care, we believe every animal deserves compassionate care, including access to food, medical support, and a safe environment.
