WHO WE ARE...
Table of Plenty provides a weekly supper for the hungry and lonely in Half Moon Bay and on the Coastside. Founded 13 years ago, Table of Plenty has served more than 115,000 meals to families, seniors, and people without homes. We provide a warm, satisfying dinner each week, served to our guests in restaurant-style accompanied by live music. This generous hospitality affirms the dignity of each person, fosters community and companionship, and promotes volunteerism. Our volunteers, who range in age from 12 to 85+ years, cook and serve dinner every Thursday evening -- 52 weeks a year -- and each dinner serves more than 150 neighbors in our dining room and through our packaged meals. Our volunteers work together, bringing smiles, warmth and kindness to each guest, many of whom hunger for more than food.
In 2022, Sister Jeanette Braun, SNDdeN, founding director and Clyde Beffa, Jr., co-founder of the Table of Plenty, received the Jefferson Award for Public Service, and Table of Plenty received the 100+ Women Who Care Coastside donation award. In 2018, Sister Jeanette received the 2018 Rotary of Half Moon Bay “Service Above Self Award."
WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY...
"Thank you for serving such a wonderful Thanksgiving luncheon. It is not easy being without family over the holidays. I wasn't looking forward to today, but you made the day special and bright."
WHAT IT MEANS TO VOLUNTEER...
"Volunteering with Table of Plenty gives the students a chance to understand food insecurity, the challenges facing low income people in their geographical area and a chance to spend time serving and interacting with the people who come to have a meal there. We have heard students say that they've never had the chance to serve others before they come to Table of Plenty and how much it means to them to have a chance to serve food to someone and have some conversation with them."
-Amy J, Director of Mission and Ministry, Notre Dame High School
