Funds raised through Coastside Gives 2025 will directly support staff development, collaboration, and staff appreciation for our HMBHS faculty.

For the 24/25 School Year, PTO has committed $73,000 in support of academic and enrichment programming for Half Moon Bay High School Students and Faculty. These funds provide crucial dollars to a variety of campus initiatives, including departmental funds for:

Math, Art, Social Sciences, English, Ag, Special Ed, Music, Physical Education, World Languages & More!

We also fund the following enrichment activities on campus:

Graduation, Yearbook Supports, Challenge Day (social-emotional learning), Homework & Tutoring Supports, Freshman Orientation, 8th Grade Family Night, & More

I cannot overstate the impact that HMBHS PTO has on our students, staff, teachers, administrators, and the community at large. As our primary donor, it has consistently worked toward funding and supporting all teachers and departments with the aspiration that each year, students will have learning experiences that texture the core programs and support from CUSD. By funding departmental grants and organizing a massive supplies drive, teachers and students get the materials that go directly into the classrooms to be used now. Its allocation of funding toward our tutoring and wellness programs provides both academic and social-emotional support. Student spaces such as Cougar Park and the currently-being-constructed Cougar Grove enhance student time on campus and give them a comfortable place to socialize with an ocean view. Beyond these wonderful contributions they support shared experiences like staff appreciation events and graduation. We are so very grateful for the consistent and substantial support HMBHS PTO offers our Cougar Community.

For many years the Half Moon Bay High School PTO has supported the Art department with vital financial support. The funding of 15 dollars per student this year has provided top quality art materials, a field trip bus, and an upcoming week of a visiting Artist for the AP Studio Art class. Funding was also used to support the framing and matting of Artworks chosen for the yearly juried show. The Art department has an enrollment of nearly 500 students, and they all benefit from the materials, experiences, and creations that are made possible through the generous support of the PTO.

Half Moon Bay High School's PTO has been an impactful support group to the Mathematics and Computer Science program. They have provided funding to enhance educational programs and activities. They have provided financial support for the purchase of math supplies and equipment, such as calculators, workbooks, and other programs that aid in student learning. The PTO has funded math-related extracurricular activities and brought in guest speakers. They have sponsored programs that pvded additional support to students who may be struggling with math, including tutorial programs. The PTO has helped to ensure that all students have the opportunity to succeed in math.
